Every week. Every chart. Every bullet.
ChartVault keeps the weekly national charts the way the trade papers printed them: the Hot 100 with its red rings
and banners, R&R’s airplay charts with their green bullets, and every record’s run, week by week, from debut to drop-off.
Look up any song or any artist, and see what they did on every chart.
Counted from the archive itself, and still growing: every new year and every new chart shows up here as it is loaded.
Two magazines, one archive
12 charts · one index
Billboard sold the hits; Radio & Records tracked what radio actually played. ChartVault files both against one list of records and
one list of acts, so a song that ran on the Hot 100 and on R&R’s CHR is a single song page with both runs on it.
Billboard
Set the way Billboard set it: red rings, NEW▶ arrows, Power Picks and Hot Shot Debuts.
The archive keeps the magazines’ own marks, so a chart here reads the way it did on the page. A quick key:
127
The red ring
Billboard’s bullet: among the week’s biggest sales and airplay gains. A ringed record can still hold or slip a place. Filled in, it’s a 1980–83 “superstar.”
9
The green bullet
R&R’s bullet: the record gained airplay that week. It marks more plays, not a higher rank.

Debuts and returns
Written across the history columns, as printed. A dash means the record wasn’t on the chart that week.
★★★ HOT SHOT DEBUT ★★★
The banners
No. 1 with its weeks at the top, Power Picks, Hot Movers, Greatest Gainers and the Hot Shot Debut, each over its row.

Weeks on each chart, and how many of them were bulleted
First and last week of every run
A column for every published week, scaled to how deep the chart ran that week, each one a link to that chart
ON THE AIR, STILL GROWINGNew years and new charts are added as they are transcribed and checked against the printed pages. The menus, the numbers above and the year grid all update themselves.
